Privacy Policy

Last updated:

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Scenelet handles information in the Scenelet desktop app for Windows and on the scenelet.monosma.com website.

Scenelet is built around local video search. The desktop app is designed so your videos, generated indexes, thumbnails, proxy files and search queries stay on your computer.

2. Information handled by the desktop app

When you add videos or folders, Scenelet reads the files you select and stores app data locally in the operating system app data area. This local data is used to make search, playback and library management work.

  • Library records, including selected folder paths, labels, watch settings and scan status.
  • Video metadata, including file paths, titles, duration, size, format, codec, timestamps and indexing state.
  • Generated search data, including semantic embeddings, search index rows, thumbnails and playback proxy files.
  • Search history, result counts, search scope, app settings, language/theme choices, model settings and logs.

3. Local processing

Video analysis, text search, high-precision reranking and model inference run locally on your computer. Scenelet does not upload your videos, search queries, thumbnails, indexes or generated proxy files to us.

The app may start a local inference service on 127.0.0.1 so the Electron app can communicate with the local AI runtime. This is local inter-process communication, not a cloud API.

4. Network use

Search and indexing do not require an internet connection after the app and bundled resources are installed. Some app features and distribution paths may still use the network.

  • If automatic update checking is enabled, Scenelet may contact an update distribution provider to check for a newer version and download an update. These requests can include standard network information and app version information.
  • Purchases, downloads, license management and store pages are handled by Microsoft Store or Microsoft services under Microsoft's own terms and privacy practices.
  • If you open external links or contact us by email, your browser, email provider and the receiving service may process the information needed to complete that action.

5. Website data

The scenelet.monosma.com website may process basic access information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring page and pages viewed. If Google Analytics is configured, analytics cookies or similar identifiers may be used to understand aggregate website usage.

The website may load resources from providers such as Google Fonts, Google Analytics and Microsoft Store badge services. Those providers may receive standard request information when your browser loads their resources.

6. Information you send to us

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, name, message contents and any attachments. We use this information to respond, provide support, investigate issues and maintain our records.

Please avoid sending video files, indexes, logs or other sensitive material unless we specifically ask for it for support and you are comfortable sharing it.

7. Sharing and sale of data

We do not sell your videos, search queries, local indexes or app library data. Because the desktop app does not send those materials to us, we do not use them for advertising, model training or profiling.

We may share information we actually receive only with service providers needed to operate the website, email/support workflow, updates, payments or legal/compliance processes.

8. Retention and deletion

Local app data remains on your computer until you clear it in the app, remove libraries, clear search history, uninstall the app or delete the app data folder. Uninstall behavior can vary by installation type, so some local settings or indexes may remain for reinstall continuity.

Messages sent to us are retained for as long as needed to respond, maintain support records and satisfy legal or operational requirements. Website analytics retention is governed by the analytics provider and our configuration.

9. Security

Scenelet limits desktop app data flow by keeping video analysis and search local. You are responsible for protecting access to your computer, operating system account, local video folders and backups.

Logs are stored locally and may include technical error information and file paths. They are not sent to us automatically.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as Scenelet changes. The updated date above shows when this page was last revised.

Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@monosma.com.
